The choreography "Columbieros," by Cuban Alvin Hernandez, won the Grand Prix of the contest held from March 23 to 29 at the National Theater, with the participation of dancers from Mexico and Colombia.

The Best Actress award went to Mexican Erendira Rodriguez, students from the Higher Music and Dance School in Monterrey, Mexico, while the Best Actor award went to Cuban Eriberto Meneses.

According to a statement released by CNEArt, the jury decided to grant two awards to the best work together.

The jury also recognized equally the works "Boda Mestiza en Nayarit," by Rene Garza, of the Higher Music and Dance School in Monterrey, Mexico, and Gloria Benitez, of the Alejo Carpentier Elementary School in Cuba.

Parallel to the contest was the Second Meeting of Dance Schools that included master classes, lectures and artistic galas.
