HAVANA.- Cuban journalists participating this Friday in the 10th Congress of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) will focus their discussions on a renewed press model, their own and in accordance with the dynamics of socialism in constant renewal.

During this Friday and Saturday morning, the delegates to the meeting will exchange information on the recently approved Communication Policy that offers keys on how to make better journalism in the face of the economic, political, legal and social changes that are taking place in the country.

Jessica Mesa Duarte, a young woman who graduated from her first graduation in the province of Matanzas, told ACN that journalists come to Congress with the challenge of contributing to the transformation and modernization of the media system, and UPEC must accompany the newsrooms in their efforts to generate changes in the economic and editorial management model.

The 10th Congress of the UPEC, which will take place in the Convention Center, will have as its first theme this morning, How to contribute from the Cuban press and journalism to the implementation of the Communication Policy.
