Members of the Sixth Brigade of solidarity and the youth project "Bicicletazo" joined their voices to demand the release of the three Cuban heroes who have remained in prisons in the United States for 16 years to protect their country from violent actions.

Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González and René González- the two last already in Cuba, after fully complying with their sentence- were monitoring the activities of extremist groups operating from Florida.

The Sixth Contingent of the solidarity Brigade as part of its vacations engaged in agricultural works and deepened on Cuban history and reality, and lodged in the International Camp Julio Antonio Mella, of Caimito, west of Havana, from August 13 to 19.

Meanwhile, the participants in "Bicicletazo" did in their bicycles about 200 kilometeres in different parts of the capital and the neighboring province of Artemisa to express their support to the cause of the Cuban Five.

In the ICAP, the protagonists of both initiatives also condemned Israel's military attack against Palestine, which has led to more than two thousand deaths and 10 thousand wounded people, mostly children.

Adriano Belo, medical student of Timor Leste, affirmed that supporting the cause of the Cuban Five is to raise up for Cuba, for the end of the United States blockade against the island, against injustice and for peace, since these are the ideas they represent.

Belo is one of the members of "Bicicletazo" that, under the motto "I love you free" (Yo te quiero libre), also brought together young people from Angola, Colombia, Cuba and Palestine.

The Sixth Brigade issued a six-point statement that demands respect for the rights of peoples to self-determination, and to build their future in peace.

The meeting was the closure of the activities of both solidarity projects integrated by who the ICAP Vice President, Elio Gamez, described in the event as a showcase of the best of the world's youth.
