As a tribute to the 450th anniversary of the birth of the English poet and playwright, the official program will include the revival of the piece Shakespeare and his Masks, a stage version of the literary drama Romeo and Juliet.

Giselle Mazorra, a specialist with the Paradiso Cultural Tourist Agency, which coordinates the Festival along with Cuba's National Ballet Company (BNC), told ACN that, as usual, the public will be able to also enjoy great pieces of the traditional classical repertoire, like Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle and the Nutcracker.

On the occasion of the bicentennial of the birth of writer Gertrudis Gomez de Avellaneda, the Cuban company will revive the choreographic piece Tula, a ballet in two acts by Alicia Alonso, which recreates the intense life of this woman of letters and her passion for stage art, asserted Mazorra.

Within the framework of the meeting, in addition to presentations scheduled, the Festival will include a special course of ballet technique for professionals, students of advanced levels and professors, as well as a film cycle.
