MEXICO.- (PL) Secretary of Health Jose Narro visited the Cuban medical brigade that is treating the people affected by the September 7 earthquake in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in the state of Oaxaca.

 Narro toured the field hospital sent by Cuba and located on the grounds of a sports stadium in the town of Ixtepec, from where it provides its services to the regions of Ixaltepec and Juchitlan, which heavily hit by the earthquake and where the earth is still shaking.

Dr. Rolando Piloto, head of the Cuban team, briefed the federal health minister on the results of the first four days of work.

The Cuban doctors provided 2,517 consultations and performed 23 surgeries, 287 laboratory tests and 223 ultrasound screenings.

The hospital is distributed in tents, in which doctors provide consultations in pediatrics, gynecology and ultrasound, orthopedics, traumatology and surgery.
