CARLOS MANUEL DE CÉSPEDES, CAMAGÜEY.- With the recognition to the work carried out by the people of the municipality of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the provincial commemoration of the National Rebellion Day took place in the early morning hours.

In the main speech of the celebration, Aracelys Rivas Duarte, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in the territory, stressed the participation and effort of the people in the execution of more than 400 works with an important economic and social impact for the municipality.

The people have been favored by the repair of different sectors, such as Public Health, Commerce and Gastronomy, in addition to the renewal of public areas, sports and cultural entities, she added.

The provincial celebration of the National Rebellion Day was presided by Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, first secretary of the Party in the province, Isabel González Cárdenas, president of the Provincial Assembly of the Government, other authorities of the Party and the Government, and representatives of political and mass organizations of the territory.

Religious leaders, combatants and delegates to the National Assembly were also presents in this celebration.

The National Rebellion´s Day is commemorated in Cuba on July 26, to recall the assault to the barracks Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, which took place this day of 1953 and was led by Fidel Castro. This marked the beginning of the final libertarian struggles period in the Island.
