Last July 20th, in Washington, was opened the Cuban diplomatic head office, in a ceremony with the presence of a nourished group of personalities representative of the Cuban society and hundreds of American friends, presided by our Secretary of State, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.

According to the announced, the secretary of the Department of State (DOS), John Kerry, will be present in the ceremony of official opening of the North American embassy and probably will deliver a speech.

Kerry's visit will mark an important moment in the Cuban-American relations since the last visit of a head of the diplomacy of the United States to Cuba was yielded around 70 year ago, in 1945.

Mark Toner, spokesman of the Department of State (DOS), said that “although on August 14th does not mark the end of the differences between Cuba and the United States, it does reflect that the “cold war” is finished and that the dialogue is better that the distancing.

For the specialists, Kerry's visit constitutes an important gesture that will have to help generating a confidence climate between the two governments on the base of the mutual respect, to be able to advance in the process of standardization of the bilateral relations.

Following the protocol of the happened in Washington during the opening of the Cuban head office it is very probable that the Secretary of the State meets his counterpart Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, before returning to his country on the same 14th.

Nevertheless, many times Cuba has repeated its will of continuing the dialogue tackled on the base of equality and respect mutual, thinking that despite the existing differences it is possible to coexist and to support civilized relations and to contribute with it to a climate of distension and peace in the region and in the world.
