In conversation with Adelante with Ángel Henríquez Mayedo, head of the brigade of the area of bath of the Company of Services to the Tourism (Emprestur), commented: "We clean every day before the swimmers come, first we gather the solid garbage and later the sieve gathers the seaweeds”.
Only 18 men are in charge of approximately 20 kilometers of the coast destined to the enjoyment of the national tourism -mostly- and the international one. “They have looked for strategies to fulfill the mission and while the sieve is well, there is no problem, but when it fails and there is greatly arrive of seaweeds, the people complain, because we have no time to cover the whole area. Also, the work then is harder because it becomes manual, but it satisfies us when they celebrate what we do”.
Angel alert on the need of placing garbage baskets near the beach, under the trees and in the areas where the visitors tend to spend the day, because there are many solid garbage, remains of food and nylons that they do not have where to dump.
