Martha Báez, president of the Camagüey affiliate of the Asociación de Pedagogos de Cuba, complimented the decision of  celebrating this meeting by reminiscing the following phrase of Lola Rodríguez de Tío's poem: "Cuba and Puerto Rico are two wings of one bird".

After the cultural show held by students from this same school and that impressed them pleasantly, the boricuas showed admiration and respect for the Cuban educationl system, distorted in the few information they receive.

Magaly Ochoa, director of the this school that have received many recognitions, explained the bonds that this schools has with some cultural and health institutions and specially with teacher training schools.

In the meeting Isnel Pérez, teacher that have been in many positions from the classroom to the highest leading position in this sector, made a summary about the history of education in Cuba. Also, the Puerto Rican teachers were informed about the function of the "Educate Your Child" program, the Centros de Diagnóstico y Orientación, some specifics about the special education and the possibilities that teachers have in our country to be better professionally speaking, where most of them are graduates and there is a high percentage of masters and doctors.

María Gómez, retired teacher and member of the board of directors of the Teachers Association of Puerto Rico highlighted that: "Good things can be made in this country because there is commitment, a commitment to teachers, a country's commitment to the peple and when there is such commitment, despite the few resources this country has, everything has to go on in a positive way; there are many countries that have it all, but there is a lack of this love, this commitment."

The delegation, integrated by 35 teachers and companions with a long experience and trayectory in private and public schools, during its visit to Cuba was already in Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba and will go to Santa Clara, Varadero and finally Havana.
