“With these repairs we come to the maximum installed capacity, which does not mean that we achieve a free situation, because to guarantee every day the 90 tons of the totality of products that we prepare at least two cauldrons are needed in good state”, said Gilberto Ramos Álvarez, director of the factory.

In charge of the making of natural and soybean yogurt, and of skim milk, the plant was paralyzed during January and February, due to a maintenance process in the structures of the places.

In that space, also tubes and technological devices were repaired in the butter, pocketed, soybean and receipt of milk departments, of which highlights the repair of a condenser of ammonia, and the installation of the new one, in order to guarantee the capacity of cooling that the plant needs.

To satisfy the existing demand of the municipality head, while the break lasted, the Company of Dairy Products of Camagüey (EMPLAC) brought from Nuevitas, natural yogurt, destined for the persons with medical diets, daycare centers and homes for the elderly; that of soybean, for children from 7 to 13 years; from Holguín and Ciego de Ávila; and the milk was moved from Jimaguayú, Sibanicú and Florida, which also contributed with the two types of yogurts, according to Carlos Agramonte Reyna, director of the balance and sales of the EMPLAC.

In addition to lowing the price of the production costs for the transfer of the raw material, the changes in the plant must avoid the instability of the milk supply and the change of milk for yogurt in some routes, demonstrated these days.

According to the managers of the factory and the EMPLAC, in the next months, thanks to the proper increasement of the spring deliveries, 500 tons of debts must be recovered with regard to the annual plan that overcomes 6 000 tons between yogurt and milk.
