The target of the practice is to exercise in preventing and facing manifestations of social indiscipline, illegalities in exits of the country and in furtive fishing, bundles thrown to the sea by international drug traffickers and other crimes at areas of the coast.

In Punta de Ganado, to the northern part of the province, three of these groups staged a supposed drug arrival at the coasts that verified, in real-time, the effectiveness and rapidity with which these neighbors are unrolled before such a dangerous fact.

Orestes Yánez Mestre, National Vice Coordinador of the CDR, valued the importance of these groups for the maintenance of the national safety and conservation of the environment, tasks that, to be fulfilled must be provided with the participation of the organized people.

In the middle of the week there was constituted the detachment number fourteen, on the north coast, very close to the town of Gurugú (Minas) integrated by 26 local neighbors, mostly young people that also will protect the bordering forests.

This joint Operation of the CDRs commemorates the 55th anniversary and pays homage to the combatants of the Boder Patrol Troops, belonging to the Ministry of Interior, which with heroism and intelligence protect our seas.

The detachments Mirando al Mar, in Camagüey, were created in 1970 and since then they are integrated by members of the organization of masses that cover beaches, keys and nearby areas, preventing crimes that can compromise the life and the properties of those who reside in the coastal zones.
