The Office of the Historian of the City organized the ceremony where children and young people of the artistic group Arlequín sang to the Mayor General of the War of 1868. Among the organizations that went so far as up to the statue of the patriot to place flowers were the Communist Party of Cuba, National Association of Jurists, the Cuba´s Young Communist League (UJC) and the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC)

There was also a talk on the transcendency of the work of Agramonte “a diamond with the soul of a kiss” as called by José Martí, in addition to activities in the Pasture of Jimaguayú, place where he fell down in combat.

Agramonte is one of the most recognized pro-independence combatants of Cuba, so much is his influence in the culture of this territory that, in his honor, the Camagüeyans are known as Agramontinos.
