Vladimir confessed to me that he was nervous, he did not expect to be interviewed. For him some events just happen and that´s it, like being the only direct representative of his territory to the Xth Congress of the Union of Communist Young people (UJC), to be celebrated in July of this year.
After knowing that he is very responsible and that he serves in the lines of the youth organization for 14 years.
Remember some difficult task you should have faced, I suggested him. He thought and said:
- In 2012 I was one of the 35 Camagüeyans that integrated the brigade destined to offer help in Santiago de Cuba, after the hurricane Sandy. This was also done, in Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus and Ciego de Ávila. We were over there about three months in the cleaning tasks.
- Did you fulfill internationalist mission?
- Yes, I was in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela from 2010 until 2012.
- What is your academic level?
- I am a technician of average level and I am in the final line of the fourth year of the BA in Technology of the Health, which I did not end earlier precisely for my exit of the country.
- A necessary question in these cases: what are your expectations for the Congress?
- It is a pride for any young man of this country representing those who have chosen and entrusted you.
- Did you expect this election?
- No, no way, because there are many young people with great conditions and that might be perfectly the elected ones. I told you I had a knot in the throat, I was very nervous, almost like now, and he smiled.
- Do you have any argument that glimpses the success of this appointment?
- Of course, I was present like delegate at the provincial assembly that presided José Ramón Machado Ventura, the second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
“There I listened to expositions much to tone with the Cuban reality of these times and all, you can be sure, directed to continue the ethical and moral beginning of the historical leaders of our social process, and to support the most outstanding victories of all these years, and even, there came out the enthusiasm, the desires to work and the disposition to enter the lines of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC)”.
- This young man that is married a lab technician just like him, which resides in the locality of Senado and travels every day to work added:
- We are prepared to contribute everything what is to our scope and guarantee the continuity of this revolutionary work, the most human and sensitive. We will not be disappointed those who precede us.
- When you think about this future that you assure you will support: what are your biggest inspirations?
- I think about my people, my family, and certainly, about my daughters: one of seven years and the other of five.
