To his return, a brief meet, in which he shared with Adelante newspaper and its readership his stamp in the historical event.

The Forum, convened by the President of Panama, developed under the motto: Prosperity and education: the challenge of the cooperation in the Americas, the roll of the Universities, was organized in three topics: the academic mobility; the roll of the innovation and technology to improve the research and university education in the region, in which I took part, was about the importance of the research for the sustainable economic development.

In the specific case of the rectors, it was up to Dr. Gustavo Cobreiro Suárez to speak in the plenary on the vision of Cuba of how achieving the access to a free higher education and of quality, which in translated in the development of the region, on what, without doubts, we are an example on a global scale.

The organization of this event qualified it as magnificent; there were present over 400 rectors of universities of the area, many we know each other across the permanent exchanges that we have, and we did not endure the disadvantage of the presence of mercenaries, because none of them has the academic level needed for their accreditation; we never feel hostility, on the contrary, there prevailed the ambience of warmth and friendliness that we have earned among the universities there represented; anyway we prepare ourselves for any risk..

At midday of Saturday, 10th it kicked off to circulate slyly a proposal of declaration of the Forum, in which there was clear the manipulation that was making explicit the alleged leading role of the OEA to sit rules.

The circumstances forced us to converse personally with many friends to tell to them that we are not the intolerant ones, as many mass media were presenting us, that our attitude of rejection and condemnation to the mercenaries' presence, was the claim so that we were born in mind like the real representatives of Cuba, of the Cuban Revolution.
