When they went out only six months ago little was known of the illness that they would fight, but a lot of its lethal behavior and easy way of transmission. Then we were objects of many feelings. On one hand, the pride of participating in the most human work to our scope; on the other, the suspense of, what will happen? how will they go out of such a difficult task, for not few ones a suicidal mission?

We were putting ourselves in the place of their relatives and were wondering: will they be able to understand how much their relatives would contribute, at the risk of their own lives, to prevent this terrible disease from penetrating in Cuban soil and other nearby nations? And, of course, the need of contributing with science to those that are the least favored and the poorest of this hemisphere.

Today, seeing them again, formed in the Medical University of Camagüey, we perceive that they are children of the principle of sacrifice, perseverance and humanism of the eminent Camagüeyan scientist Carlos J. Finlay who names the High House of Studies, and that they fulfilled the intention of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, of creating the Henry Reeve brigade to which they belong, today proposed to received the Nobel Prize of Peace.

We knew of the simplicity of all, as it happens in the great men, since they left the bus that was bringing them, occasion in which there were not missing the tears of happiness, the smiles and hugs and the photos. Among so many volunteers they were the elected ones, and without proposing it and, I believe that they still do not know it in its big magnitude, they placed well in high place the name of Cuba, with invaluables contributions, sensibility, altruism and value.

Since they volunteered they demonstrated not only to be children of Finlay, but also of Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, with delivery and love, two inseparable qualities of the army of white robes that they integrate.

There were many people. Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in the province; Elizabeth González Cárdenas, president of the Government; and Dr. Fernando González Isla, director of Public Health, both in this level. Also relatives and friends.

The words, all of gratitude and congratulations before so much nobility, do not reach to value the realized prowess and as Tapia Fonseca indicated: "We receive our heroes, continuators of our Revolution”.

The Project Arte sin Barreras, led in the Center of Equine Therapy, of this city, and that welcomes children and young people with some disability, included in the society across different artistic expressions, were the best possible hosts. They are a sample of the sleeplessness of our social system after the improvement of the quality of life of all, without exclusions.
