In the Sugar Company Camagüey, in this moment the manufacture of sugar is to 86 per cent of the plan.

To conquer what was proposed, in a readjusted plan because part of the raw material was moved to process in plants of Ciego de Ávila, Camagüey have still to prepare approximately 39 000 tons, when there are still in operations the five plants that participate in the harvest.

With the exception of the plant Argentina, with one of the worst sugar harvests of the last years, the others have possibilities of fulfilling the program, and two of them even can contribute sugar to the plan of the territory.

Ramón Campanioni, agricultural specialist in the sugar entity, ensure that the territory is provided with the necessary cane to reach the goal, favorable situation in spite of the severity of the dry station that causes decreases to the plantations.

The forces of cut, the Aquiles's Heel in the present period, are in conditions to give the gramineae to the plants so that they raise the griding and achieve higher levels.

Consultations in the Meteorological Center of Camagüey indicated that the rest of April will behave without important rains, and the prognoses in the long term point out that until the middle of May they do not expect for precipitations that could interrupt the harvest.

Experts in the sugar economy proved to be confident that the province might fulfill the plan of the sugar harvest, although they expressed the indispensable of increasing the levels of cut of cane to supply sufficiently to the factories.

For now, in the next days the plants Siboney and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes must reach their respective goals and be maintained in the grinding for several days.

Ania Ricardo, head of the room of control and analysis in the Siboney plant, showed that the they will continue in operations until April 23rd, since in a mechanical way it is entirely suitable to do a contribution in sugar, production that is destined for the national consumption, especially for the familiar basket.
