CAMAGÜEY.- The quality of the seeds depends to a large extent the harvest, hence the need for it to be certified by the corresponding organisms. The Business Unit of Base (UEB) Seeds Camagüey diversifies its offers in grains and crops of short cycle with the sight placed in the next months.

According to Elva Peláez Hernández, commercial of the entity, today they offer vitroplants of banana, postures of papaya, cuttings of sweet potato and cassava stems with high genetic potentials, some outputs of the Bio-factory and others of the Provincial Estate.

It has eight varieties of beans, four of maize, including a short cycle that in 100 days allows it to be dry and replaces imports, seven varieties of tomatoes (four for fresh consumption and three for the industry), plus others that are imported and the UEB of Seeds of the province sells it in the different units of the company... However, there is still little knowledge that producers have about the option, and they do not take full advantage of that structure.

These products can be obtained in the network of shops of the Company and seek to make life easier for the peasant, bringing the offers. According to José Castro Vázquez, director of the UEB Seeds Camagüey, not only for the big producers but also for those who like to sow at home and do not need to buy a kilo of seeds.
