CAMAGÜEY.- The Camagüey´s traditional cuisine will be represented by six of its chefs, in 5th Convention of the Federation of Culinary Associations of the Republic of Cuba, which will be held in Havana from 17 to 19 of the current month.

Danuris Hernández Lafita, the president of the Association in the province (ACC), who heads the Camagüey´s delegation, emphasized that in these meetings they evaluate the institutional work of the organization and its representations in every territory, during the last five years, and debate thesis on the Cuban cuisine, the work with the woman, the rescue of traditions, regulations and statutes.

The local representation to the Convention will be also integrated by Edgar Miguel Villafaña, vice-president of the ACC; Joel Alberto Olano, chef of the restaurant La Isabella; Osmel Alvarez Castañeda, of The house of the chef; Alfredo López, representative of the ACC in the municipality of Florida, of that of better integral results in the Association; and Ernesto Rodríguez Freire, of the private sector.

The 5th National Convention of the Cuban Culinary generates in these days big expectation, especially on the tourist markets with predominance in this island, since it has a lot to do with the development of the insular gastronomy of high flight, and therefore with a traveler's style that seeks to know the food traditions of the peoples.

About 80 members of the Federation of Culinary Associations of the Republic of Cuba (FACRC) of all the provinces will meet to update and to evaluate the functioning of the provincial associations and to project the immediate and future work, especially in correspondence with the increase of the foreign tourism, which is one of the links that motivate the trips of these to Cuba.

The Camagüey´s celebrations for the Day of the Cuban Cuisine will take place in several places the morning of the next Thursday October 18, as The house of the Peasant, in The lake of the dreams; the restaurant Jayamá, of the Julio Antonio Mella neighborhood; and as central activity of the province will be the exhibition and sale of Camagüey´s and nationals traditional dishes in the second plant of the shopping center La Caridad, former Estrella Roja.

On October 18 the date is celebrated as homage to the Cuban team that in 1984 conquered golden medal, in the Cuisine Olympiad in Frankfurt, Germany, headed by the international chef Gilberto Smith Duquesne.
