CAMAGÜEY.- In order to improve the transportation of passengers and cargo, the railroad company Center This, in this province, implements a comprehensive reordering of the workshops for technical assistance to the park of locomotives and wagons, in addition to improve the comfort of the car, most with about 25 years of exploitation.

Eduardo Medrano Adam, director of Rolling Stock and Tractivo of that entity, explained that despite the financial situation of the country and the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba against US, develops an ambitious investment process to modernize the infrastructure with new equipment and machines, allowing you to maintain the life of the trains.

Medrano Adam pointed out that in the area of foundry of the Camagüeyan railway workshops, in conjunction with Mechanical Plant, parts and accessories that not only cover the demand of the territory, but also in the country, with which contribute to the substitution of imports.

The movement for innovation and in the sector stands out for technical maintenance tasks, which makes it possible for the renovation of the premises devoted to the improvement of the fleet, and facilitates that at this time in the province operate 13 locomotives from china and other manufactured in the former Soviet Union.

The province received five car-Russian engines of new acquisition for the carriage of passengers; they are already providing services to the municipalities of Santa Cruz del Sur and Esmeralda, which also benefits the residents of intermediate towns between these constituencies and the capital agramontina.
