CAMAGUEY.- The Colloquium of the Written Press begins today in this city with the opening of a sample of snapshots taken by professionals and collaborators of the weekly Adelante, on the tribute of the Camagüey´s inhabitants to Fidel Castro between November 25 and December 2, 2016.

This event is a space to rethink journalism exercised by those who defend the value of the written press, and to deepen the knowledge of professionals of Adelante and correspondents of the Cuban News Agency (ACN) of the territory, said Daicar Saladrigas, director of the newspaper to this agency.

Until November 15, the Symposium will promote spaces of overcoming in themes such as those addressed in the conferences on Economics, and writing and gender characteristics of the note.

It is also conducted a workshop of on-line tools for journalism hypermedia, and another one that focuses on the management models of the media in Cuba and an analysis of the digital edition adelante.cu.

Convened by the delegations of the basis of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (Upec) of the local weekly and the ACN in the province, in this edition students of Journalism of the University of Camagüey will have the chance to compete with their work in different genres of the specialty.

This way, participants will be able to bring their practices to Adelante, which would then be expected to be materialized in the colors of the printed and digital sections of the site adelante.cu, referred Zoila Pérez, member of the executive board of the Upec of the Camagüey´s Rotary.

On the closing day, the professionals will share their experiences on the coverage done before, during and after the passage of hurricane Irma by the province.

This phenomenon demanded a greater deployment of professional skills and production routines to ensure the effectiveness and quality of its message to bring to the public the entire event, the scourge, the effects and the recovery of the socio-economic life in the territory.

The Colloquium of the Written Press in Camagüey, carried out almost continuously since 2007, will count for this edition with the participation of 26 journalists from the weeklies 26 and Invasor, of the provinces of Las Tunas and Ciego de Ávila, respectively.
