CAMAGÜEY.-  With regard to the impact of scientific research in the construction of a society based on the pillars of sustainable development, the Environmental Education Workshop and proposals to promote, in the context of the 14th International Conference of Education Sciences, at the Convention Center of Santa Cecilia, of this city.

 The eight presentations addressed a number of edges of environmental education, with issues relating to climate change through the course Biology; the myths surrounding biodiversity; the environmental training of civil engineer, journalist and engineer; the application of the value respect for the environment in boys and girls; and the employment of an environmental educational calendar for the strategy of history and environment.

 In the debate generated among teachers and researchers transcended topics, among them the responsibility of everyone in the implementation of the hazard, vulnerability and risk, and the Task Life, The State Plan for climate change.

 "The exchange of experiences in environmental matters has social relevance, scientific and educational activities, as evidence encouraging results that are embodied not only in words but also in deeds. However, it is worrying that, in spite of the relevant results, the reality is not changing in such basic topics as how to avoid contamination," said the Doctor in Sciences Lubis Carmita Zambrano, professor of the University of San Gregorio de Quito in Ecuador, who is attending from the year 2011 the event, organized by the University of Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz (UC).

 The Doctor in Sciences María Isabel Bardina Torres, assessed as positive the results that today exhibits the UC in the field of environmental research.

"They are a strength of the Education in Camagüey, with a high impact, not only on the theoretical level, but also practical," she added.

For her part, the Doctors of Science Maricela de la Caridad Guerra Salcedo and Alisvech Águila Carralero, reflected on the challenges of environmental research in terms of the socialization of the scientific results and the urgent need to unify efforts from different academic disciplines.

It also called for not stopping in the diagnosis of problems and in the systematization and solution of the same, any time you will be contributing to the formation of the new generations in terms of sustainability.
