CAMAGÜEY.- As a part of the activities announced by the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey (OHCC) for the current summer 2017, there are several options related to the local history, among which we find the touring of places of interest in the urban train.

This option, pleasantly welcomed last year, will work for the public the Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings and in the Friday and Saturday afternoons.

Route 4, “My friend nature”, one of the diverse options in this edition, invites from 9 am every Friday to a journey to the Finlay´s Birth Home to learn about the life and work of the scientist from Camagüey and the activities developed in this institution for the people´s wellbeing. In Route 7, called “Urban Curiosities”, the travelers will relate to places in the city that enclose not very known stories that include a trip to the catacombs.

Those interested in taking a part in this adventure can buy their tickets in the Centro de Gestión Cultural located on Independencia Street, between Martí and Hermanos Agüero Streets, with a price of ten pesos for adults and five in the case of children.

Another good news given by the OHCC for the summer time will be the inauguration of the concert hall José Martín Varona, located on Luaces Street, between República and San Pablo Streets, foreseen for July 22nd, where the groups A Tempo, A Piacere and Voces will join to display the best in the province concert music.

Other than the popular “little train” and the enjoyment of the new concert hall, the Dolls Workshop will be celebrated on Wednesdays and Thursdays of the current month, from nine till eleven in the morning, conducted by the Crafting Specialist Carmen Soto.
