CAMAGÜEY.- The papal Delegate vested Monsignor Willy Pino with the archiepiscopal pallium in Holy Mass, joined by numerous believers from the different parishes of the archdioceses.

Monsignor Willy acknowledged that the imposition of the archiepiscopal pallium, the ecclesiastical province of Camagüey “took over me”, like an act of the unity and communion of the Universal Church.

During the celebration, the good news of the naming of father Juan Gabriel Díaz Ruiz as the new bishop of Ciego de Ávila after the Holy Father accepted the resignation of Monsignor Mestril, was spread.

Up to now, father Juanín, as he is known among the parishioners, served as the parish priest in the Parish Church in Florida and delegate of the Clergy in National Commission of Priests.

The pallium is a symbol of the unity that binds the shephards of the particular Churches with the Successor of Peter, Bishop in Rome. And by the way, the pallium is also a calling to the priests and believers of the different diocese to strengthen more and more the real communion with its shephards and among all the members of the Church.
