The International Festival of Music and Dance from Les Preses, in Barcelona, Spain, closed the journey of the young ballet dancers and musicians who, with the direction of Fernando Medrano Vireya, possess a solid reputation in the international folklore circuits.

In addition to the Iberian nation, the Cmagüeyans covered Belgium, Holland, Portugal and France, to assist to a nine events, among them the XXIInd International Festival of Folklore “Tarascón Latino“, one of the most important that celebrates the Association of Festivals of the South.

Alan Sutra, president of this entity who invited Camagua to the tour and mayor of the French city of Tarascón, hailed its high professionalism and artistic quality.

During the summer tour, Camagua got also special recognitions as the medal for the 50th anniversary of the festival Op Roakeldais 2015, in Holland, and the diploma to the Artistic Excellency in the above mentioned event and in that of Burgos, Spain.

Its spectacles agglutinate the Cuban music and dance expressions, with popular rhythms like the danzón, the mambo, the rumba, the dance, the guaguancó, among others from the African tradition.

Camagua has performed in many cities of Europe and America in folk festivals where it has obtained several awards as the silver and golden medals in 2007 and 2003, respectively, of the International Contest of Dijon, France, considered to be a classic among the contests of folk dance and music in the world.
