The meet, sponsored by the Office of the Historian of the City, will be dedicated to the Palestinian people, the promotion of a culture of peace and respect among the nations, to the 400 years of the Arab presence in the island, to the 36th anniversary of the Arab Associaton of Cuba (UAC) and the 21st of the Camagüeyan subsidiary and to encourage the diversity of cultural expressions.

The migratory processes originated from the Arab countries, the historical-cultural relations of Cuba and the Caribbean Sea with the region, the contributions of this culture and its influence in expressions like the language, architecture, music, dances, religious beliefs, food customs, oral memory and traditions that shape the Camagüeyan and Cuban identity, will be some of the topics to debate during the Day of the Diversity.

Among the activities of the event highlight the magisterial conferences “Las relaciones de amistad y colaboración entre Cuba  y el mundo árabe a través de la Asociación de Amistad Cubano-Árabe”, in charge of the president of this organization, Dr.Sc. Rodrigo Álvarez Cabra; and “Los árabes en Cuba. 400 años de impronta cultural” to be delivered by Dr.Sc.. Rigoberto Menéndez Paredes, Director of the Ethnographic museums of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana and of the Museum House of the Arab of the above mentioned institution.

There will not be missing the presentation of books, magazines, photographic exhibits and of typical objects of several cultures, a traditional popular fair dedicated to the cassava like primary element of the Cuban identity, and diverse activities whose principal protagonists will be the children like growers of the most diverse cultural heritage.
