CAMAGÜEY.- The yearly Camaguey-based National Colloquium on Cultural Journalism will held its second edition from June 4th until June 8th.

Sponsored by the subsidiaries –in the province– of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS) and of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC), the forum will bring together delegations from Havana, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Ciego de Ávila, Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo and Camagüey.

The program facilitates issues such as the training of journalists, languages, research, critical sense and the space for culture in the mass media.

José Aurelio Paz (Ciego de Ávila), Reinaldo Cedeño (Santiago de Cuba) y Yuris Nórido (Havana), honored with the Journalistic National Award for Cultural Journalism, are invited.

Scheduled to be carried out in the video room Nuevo Mundo, the forum aims at generating debates on a current issue area on public channels with an outstanding role in the Cuban's spiritual richness, said the journalist Yanetsy León, vice president of the AHS in the province and coordinator of the Colloquium.

Adelante newspaper will embrace the workshop (Un) Dressing the cultural journalist, dedicated to the treatment of the image, and it will be endorsed by the Provincial Improvement Center for Art and Culture.

The opening will be on June 4th, at 9:00 pm, at the Concert Hall José Marín Varona.

The event will also include the promotion of publications and the presentation of the documentary El oro y el rojo sobre el pecho, dedicated to Luis Álvarez, Master of the Youth and the Colloquium's Honorary President.
