CAMAGÜEY. - Three pupils of the Academy of the Arts Vicentina de la Torre achieved four awards of the International Contest for young students of Ballet, developed recently in Havana.

Roberto William Nicolao Manso won the Golden Medal in the Infantile category, and of the big awards he deserved that of Revelation of the Contest.

In the advanced Changes category, Ian Marlon Aguilera Alarcón achieved Silver and Amaury Redondo Lusson, Bronze. Both are from Santiago de Cuba.

These results not only highlight the talent of the pupils, but they speak about the quality of the education in the "Vicentina" historically multi-awarded in this contest.

The jury presided by the maître Ramona de Saá and integrated by Cubans and foreigners, bore in mind the technical execution, the artistic one, the musicality and the physical proportions.

Shortly before going out towards Havana, Amaury said that in spite of the tension for the participants, this festival is always a stimulus and contains responsibility, “since you represent the Cuban ballet in a stage before young people and teachers from other countries”.

The contest was part of XXV Meeting of Academies for the Education of the Ballet that implies galas dedicated to personalities, and for which Camagüey contributed three assemblies.

Acela Piña Montoya, chief of the Ballet department of the "Vicentina", qualified of profitable the experience because it allows “to state the effectiveness of the Cuban school, which is based by the solid, studied principles implemented by the teachers Fernando, Alicia and Alberto Alonso”.
