CAMAGÜEY.-Nazario Salazar Martínez offers us the scoop of an anniversary as his as ours, to celebrate a decade of intense work with José Martí, from the experimentation with the language and the resources of digital photography.

In the year 2009, when he founded the project of miniature materials Colibrí (Hummingbird), he began to integrate the image of the master to his motives of nature. From there emerged the collections Rostro de sol and Monte soy. With pieces of both conceived the exhibition honor, open to the public in the Space Gallery Nicolás Guillén, of the newspaper Adelante.

Hummingbird, besides being the pretext of combining wills, evidences his aptitude to assume challenges, because the optical illusion by the Martí in the forest and in the sky was born to him for small format, but also with large size it challenges and seduces the gaze.

The only antecedent of the work dedicated to the Apostle was a collage of 1973 that gave to the Provincial Library Julio Antonio Mella, but disappeared like other traces before its renovating incursion with the Camagüey’s ceramics.

Indeed, his Martí life began in the home, because as he grew up in the womb, the father, a decorator of children's furniture, was gestating for him a library of about thirty books, among which was the Golden Age.

From the title Honra (Honor) contains the soul of a true artist. He reaffirms his sense of industriousness and its ethical stance. He does not brag or accommodate in the applauded executioner of 58 years.

Nazario has been one of the collaborators of Adelante, since the decades of the 70 ' and the 80 ' when for the cultural page of the newspaper he wrote about plastic arts and especially, about the painter naive Isabel de las Mercedes.

He has also been prestigious with his work in the Space Gallery Nicolás Guillén, with the personal exhibitions Principeñas (March, 2006), Mano (Homage to...) (January, 2011) and Honra (March, 2019), and in the collectives Adelarte (January, 2009), Gérmenes de lo grande (3rd Provincial Hall Hummingbird of Art miniaturist, January, 2011) and Return (October, 2018).

Adelante receives the sample as an endearing gift for the 60 anniversary of the newspaper, regarding the opening today of the Celebrations for the Cuban press. His return in March ─ as in January ─ was not accidental, because Nazario is a sincere friend.
