CAMAGÜEY.- The Ballet of Camagüey (BC) celebrates 51 years of founded on December 1st. and to celebrate it will take place, from next day four and until nine, a season of functions in the Principal Theatre of the city of Camagüey.

To the acknoledgement of which is considered the second company of classical dance in the country, will attend as guest the teacher Aurora Bosch, one of the four jewels of the National Ballet of Cuba, and who last year also participated in the days of celebrations for the half century of BC, as part of the interest of this institution to exchange with renowned teachers, dancers and choreographers.

On that occasion, Aurora – who has been many times in Camagüey, even as an active dancer – expressed her pleasure with the developing youth that integrates the cast, with many perspectives and with desires to learn from previous generations.

In the functions of the Principal, those directed by Regina Balaguer will present to the local public the Grand Pas of the ballet Paquita and the Pas de deux de Satanella, which will add contemporary pieces as First Attempt, Simultaneous Solitude, Fado Sentido and Bolero.

The public will also be able to enjoy the performance of the Contemporary Ballet and the Camagüey Folkloric Ballet, the Camagua Group and the Danza Fragmentada group, of the city of Holguín.

With these presentations, the Ballet of Camagüey, in addition to commemorating the 51 anniversary of its foundation, will pay homage to its creator, the teacher Vicentina de la Torre and the memory and historical legacy of the Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.
