LAS TUNAS.- The ruins of Juan Cristobal Napoles Fajardo´s old house in El Cornito farm, received the Catauro de la Decima, where the Cucalambé Prize 2018 was given, during the 51 edition of the Cucalambé Session that ended in Las Tunas.

The prize, considered as the Ten-line stanza National Prize and the most important of the current writing methods in Cuba was received by Domingo Peña González from Camaguey for his work Con el gesto del bufon.

Fidel Antonio Orta Perez, scriptwriter, filmmaker and investigator, in his responsibility as president of the jury, announced that the book among the 21 works in contest stood out for the irony use, the good verse usage and the ability to deal entirely with daily life.

The specialist also stated the texts level in competition and classify them as experimental, changing and breaking books, as a result of the solidness that the Cuban ten-line stanza has nowadays, after its peak last century decade.

Among verses and tunes of the gender important guests, writers as Carlos Esquivel, Cucalambé prize 1998, Argel Fernandez Granado and Renael Gonzalez Batista, showed why Las Tunas is and always will be the improvised verse and ten-line stanza birthplace.
