CAMAGÜEY. - Practically of forced visit, so much for villagers as for foreigners, is the Center of Interpretation Camagüey City Patrimony, head office of the mock-up of the metropolis, place where from the miniature there can be appreciated the historical and architectural values of the demarcation.

Located in the Collado building, opposite to the emblematic Agramonte Park, former Plaza de Armas - situated in the most ancient declared segment Cultural heritage of the Humanity - its place, of for itself, is one of its attractions.

Nevertheless, up to being content in what it is today, its first quadrants were in the Square of the Revolution, then in another place in an area of the commercial network, and finally in its current place, which was always thought to develop there a wider project, which was beyond the simple exhibition of the mock-up.

This wish was materialized, even more, after the approval in 2007 of the most ancient segment of the historical center of Camagüey like Cultural heritage of the Humanity. Immediately, the work to facilitate to visitors and natives the knowledge of the reason of this declaration and how to preserve it began.

Made by specialists of the project Company of Engineering and Architecture 11, who kept on extending it, it possesses 15 quadrants that include in a scale of 1:500 the Historical Center of the former Town of Santa Maria of the Port of the Prince, today Camagüey, and highlights especially the area differed in the UNESCO.

It is the whole tourist attraction. This Historical Center that was declared in 1980 National Monument, possesses 330 hectares that are equivalent to 382 apples and it is considered to be the most extensive studied in the country.

Inside it, its founding area includes 54 hectares, 80 apples and 83 buildings of exceptional hereditary values, as its road plot, possibly the only in America.

These values support the projection, there same in the Center of Interpretation of explanatory videos on these elements and many other attractions and history of the territory, in addition to a sophisticated system of lights that support every material.

In exhibition there appear prototypes of the traditional tiles, bricks and tinajones (earthenware jars), representative elements of the oriental territory, rescued by archaeologists of the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey (OHCC), big portraits of historical personalities of these domains and of hereditary real estate that include several architectural currents from the colonial ones to the modern ones.

From its opening on October 20, 2015 up to the date, there have been established strong ties between pupils and teachers of the career of Architecture of the University of Camagüey, which brought with it that the space is in numerous occasions a lounge of classes of this specialty.

The Center of Interpretation represents one of the dependencies of the OHCC that major number of community activities develops inside and out of its installation, since there from his entry everything is thought to catch the attention of the visitor.

In this place, meetings are done with the educational centers of the environment and in the holiday stage, it adds summer courses of several specialties, always related to the promotion and development of the values of the metropolis.

The one who visits half millennial metropolis can assume that it will enrich much more his experience, if he dedicates a few minutes of his stay to retrace in his imagination the narrow streets and alleys of the demarcation, its buildings and its religious repertoire, and to verify the delight that make it exceptionally beautiful.
