HAVANA.- (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Culture of Cuba today awarded Cuban actress Corina Mestre with the national prize of the artistic education, by the merits achieved in the work done as an actress and teacher for other actors.

During the activity, the President of the jury, Elmo Hernandez, told that the decision not had been difficult as Mestre embodies the paradigm of the teaching of arts in the country.

She is the palpable sample, that no work is damaged by the dedication to teaching, highlighted the also President of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba.

Hernandez praised the more than 20 years of work by the teacher in the art and theater schools, where instilling rigour and ethical sense, and has remarkable influence on the preparation of the future actors in the country.

In addition, he has never received economic compensation for his pedagogical work.

The jury recognized the commendable work of Mestre in theatre, radio, film and television and the promotion of socio-cultural projects in rural areas of Cuba and her defense of the principle that shame, has made us who we are.

So for being a good professional, there must be a good teacher, said the Vice Minister of culture, Kenelma Carvajal.

The Cuban official said that Mestre is a passionate and faithful of the ideology of Jose Marti and Fidel Castro , someone that does not require anything that she has not done first.

The award will be delivered to the actress at the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts on December 22, the day in which the Teachers Day is celebrated across the country, to commemorate the proclamation of Cuba as a free of illiteracy territory.
