CAMAGÜEY.- Renewable sources of energy continue to gain ground in this province through the synchronization of the new photovoltaic solar power farm Planta Mecánica I to the National Energy System, to support the 13 kilovolt networks from the north and west of the city of Camagüey.

The investment director of the Camagüey Electricity Company, Rolando González, said that the cost of the project is about eight million pesos, total coin, including construction, assembly, equipment and other expenses.

The newly built has 2,5 megawatts, consists of 390 tables of 22 panels each and it was developed by the Construction and Installation Company number one, by specialists from Copextel and workers of the electric entity in Camagüey. It was announced that the execution of Planta Mécánica II and Lesca park is covered under the plan from now to the end of the year.

Solar energy processing facilities are available in Camagüey, in Lugareño, Minas with 2,2 Mw; Imías, in Sierra de Cubitas, with equal capacity; 13 Agosto, in the Circunvalación Norte, 1,2, and Guáimaro with 1,6, part of the territory in Camagüey, but run by Hydroenergy from the capital of Granma.

The investments in Cayo Cruz go according to the plan, Rolando González finally referred.
