Chavez greeted the participants in a ceremony to create a local ‘Batalla de Carabobo’ Campaign Command tasked with promoting the re-election of president in the upcoming elections.
In another message, President Chavez said: “Greetings to the Carabobo Command in Aragua! The deployment of our forces has already begun! We have taken a huge commitment and don’t want to go down in history as those who embarrassed themselves!”
Meanwhile, Aragua State Governor Rafael Isea said that members of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) visited more than 126,000 households to explain the benefits of social programs implemented by the Government.
In statements to a state-run TV channel, Isea said: “It is our duty to lead a new revolutionary battle against the right-wing forces in Venezuela, which defend past projects.
And Isea went on to comment: “Venezuelans know that we have to take the road to socialism, and that the PSUV candidate, President Hugo Chavez, is our best choice in the upcoming elections.
All surveys, regardless of their political leanings, point to the president’s re-election with a wide lead over the candidate of the opposition Democratic Unity Coalition, Henrique Capriles.
