Damascus.- Sudanese General Mohammad al-Dabi, who served as head of the observers' mission of the Arab League in Syria, reaffirmed his commitment to his report, which recognizes the existence of armed groups that carried out terrorist acts in this country.
In a statements quoted by local media on Friday, Al-Dabi, who also admitted his statements about the above mentioned document at the regional organization, condemned the twisted interpretation by some parties about the report that do not convey the objectivity of its content.
In his opinion, to suspend the observers' mission has worsened the situation on the ground.
Among other things, the report recognizes the existence of armed groups that carry out terrorist acts against citizens and state institutions.
It also recognizes that the government has respected the peaceful demonstrations of citizens, cooperated with the observers' work, encouraged a process of reforms and promoted national dialogue to find a solution to the crisis.
After insistent pressure in open hostility against Damascus to impose an international mission of observers, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the rest of the Persian Gulf oil monarchies boycotted the mission first, when they withdrew their observers, and managed to suspend the mission later, when his report did not respond to the anti-Syrian campaign.
