HAVANA, Cuba, Oceans (2009), the drama documentary by French filmmakers Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, starring Pierce Brosnan, was chosen as the best film screened in Cuba in 2001 by the Cuban Association of Movie Journalists.
The second spot of the list, released by this group on Thursday, is for The Tree of Life (2011) by American Terrence Malick, while the third place is for My Blueberry Nights (2007), a Hong Kong-China co-production, by Wong Kar Wai.
Other films included in the list are: True Grit (2010) by Ethan and Joel Coen, The King’s Speech (2010) by Tom Hooper, In a Better World (2010) by Susanne Bier; The Silver Abyss (2011) by Karim Ainouz; Baaria (2009) by Giuseppe Tornatore; Vincere (2009) by Marco Bellocchio; and Black Swan (2010) by Darren Aronofsky.
Among national movies, the critics and journalists chose Habanastation (2011), by Ian Padron, as the best fiction film screened this year in the Caribbean nation.
